Meal Prep Slow Cooker Turkey Meatballs
Meal prep is made easy with the slow cooker. Use yours to make a big batch of these delicious turkey meatballs. Whether you’re staying diet disciplined, or you’re just short on time, this is the perfect way to make life easier. By using lean turkey mince, these meatballs offer a healthier alternative to beef, while still tasting great. The dish is high protein, but low in calories and fat. The recipe below makes 8 portions, that you can divide up then refrigerate and freeze.

Turkey mince is available in most larger supermarkets. It usually is labeled as 7% fat. By combining with some herbs and Parmesan, you can make really tasty, succulent meatballs. In this recipe I use dried breadcrumbs rather than fresh ones, but you can use either. The sauce couldn’t be simpler. It’s just tomato passata, garlic, some herbs and spices. The chilli flakes add flavour, but this is by no means a spicy sauce. You could adjust this sauce in any way you like. Want it extra spicy? Add more chilli flakes. Want a smokey flavour? Add some chipotle chilli paste. The sauce is a simple base that you can experiment with!
The ingredients list below will make 32 decent sized meatballs. I divide that up into 8 portions of 4 meatballs, with sauce. In the video below, you’ll see I made 4 portions for meal prep lunches for Monday – Thursday. I wouldn’t keep these in the fridge for much longer than that. You’ll also see I froze the rest in two larger batches, to make dinners later on with pasta.
