Slow Cooker Vanilla Spiced Poached Pears - ingredients layed out on a chopping board

This recipe is so simple. Just a few ingredients. It’s great to put it on just before you start cooking your evening dinner. That way, when you’re finished and ready for a sweet treat. We recommend cooking on high for 1.5-2 hours, but if you go over it won’t matter too much. If your slow cooker has a keep warm setting, then you can always utilise that.

As well as tasting lovely – the cinnamon, star anise and vanilla will make your house smell amazing. It’s a real winter spice aroma – perfect around Christmas time. If you’ve got some whole cloves to hand, then you can throw them in there too.
